    Shure SC35C reviews

SC35C DJ Turntable Cartridge is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recommended entry level cartridge I bought this cartridge after seeing it reviewed in an audiophile publication. I found it to be a tonally well balanced cartridge that plays way above its price range. The sound was a little grainy when I first played it, but the sound smoothed out after a couple of hours. Sound wise, it gets the midrange and voices right. The only drawback is the tracking force, which is recommended at 4.5 grams. I found I was able to reduce that to 3.5 grams without any affect on the sound or ability to track the groove. I was doing sound comparisons with a moving coil cartridge that was roughly 8 times the cost of the Shure. The Shure is a cartridge you could live with for cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A giant killer for sure! I dedcided to try this cartridge after reading a very positive review in Stereophone. While the cartridge is marketed towards DJ's, it turns out that it is an excellent low cost cartridge for hi-fi enthusiasts on a moderate budget. I have only about 50 LP's left in my collection, and they were going unheard because of my existing hi-fi cartridge. This cartridge sounds great and has virtually eliminated surface noise. It tracks heavier than most, a recommended 4.5 grams, but that will not hurt your records. I love it! Check on line references and the July '15 Stereophile. It's half the cost (here) of what would normally be considered rock bottom audiophile cartridges, and I would expect most people to prefer the sound.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bang for the buck. For the price sound quality is great. Plus with a very cost effective stylus (currently $) this cartridge is a bargin. I will be getting another as soon as my other turntable needs one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Buy! I too heard about it on Stereophile. This is my 5th Cartridge. I figured I'd use it for those $1 and $3 records that are pretty beaten up. I figured why use my expensive Grado, A-T or Shure? Well, this is a sleeper! and with the white stylus that tracks at 2 grams, it sounds fabulous. Not the ultimate at the top end but you'll love those mids and lows. CANNOT go wrong with this puppy. Enjoy. The ROI alone will have you smiling from ear to ear when you listen to your first LP.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Home playback use This started with a mention of this cartridge in Stereophile that said that it was a very surprising cartridge for budget audiophile use and that there were several compatible styli that made it better. I put it on a newly refubished turntable and I am in full agreement. The sound is rich, clean, and open. It doesn't capture the last little bit of detail but I can't imagine it disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound Sounds great on a nice technix turntable I got at a garage sale. If you listen to records for the audio quality, this is an excellent replacement cartridge to get. It comes with everything you need to install (except pliers to attach the cables, though I was able to use my hand) including different sized screws and a screwdriver.
