In a compact form factor, the Canon imageCLASS LBP122dw Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer is designed for home and small office environments requiring simple, black-and-white print functionality. It prints in 600 x 600 dpi resolution and offers dual-sided (duplex) printing. The average print speed is 30 pages per minute, and the first page printout time is an efficient 5.3 seconds. A single paper tray supports 150 sheets of up to 8.5 x 14" legal-size paper.

Connections consist of a USB interface for connecting directly to a computer, Ethernet for connecting to a router/network, and Wi-Fi for a wireless workflow. The built-in Wi-Fi allows you to send print commands from your mobile device using the Canon BUSINESS Print app (iOS/Android) or over the Wi-Fi Direct, AirPrint, and Mopria mobile print services. You can print material that you have on your mobile device, such as a received email attachment.

Somewhat difficult to set up WiFi; screen unlit; difficult to add password; goes offline and a pain to restart it and print; but it is relatively inexpensive and does print adequately.

I bought this computer to support some ham radio operations which did not require color printing. It sits in a club station which does not have frequent printing operations, so we wanted a laser printer rather than an inkjet where the cartridges would dry out. The front-and-back printing was a benefit. This printer is fast! The copies just zip out of the machine. We currently have it connected via cable to a single computer. It fits our needs. So why only four stars? 1. Shipping. The printer box was well padded inside the exterior shipping box, but that exterior box was poorly taped and came apart top and bottom during shipment. The included cable could have slipped out through the gaps, but didn’t. 2. Display panel. The display on the front of the printer is an LCD with poor contrast and no backlighting. When the room lighting was to the rear of the printer, I had to use a flashlight to read the printer panel. 3. The setup for putting the printer on a network is convoluted. The instructions must be accessed via the Canon website and don’t seem to agree with the printer displays. Setting up AirPrint for Macs requires the assistance of a Windows computer. Would I buy it again? Yes, at the sale price.

The Canon imageCLASS LBP122dw Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer requires 1,230 W or less, Canon does not explicitly list the power consumption in terms of volts, but they do sate that the power adapter runs on a range of 110 V - 127 V, 60 Hz, 4.7 A.

The Canon imageCLASS LBP122dw Wireless Monochrome Laser Printer, B&H # CAICLBP122DW, can print on paper that is up to 8.5 x 14" in size and up to 163 g/m². As long as the transparent paper you want to use is made for laser printers and does not exceed those, it should work without any issues.
