The BSI Bill Szymczyk Signature Channel Strip Plug-In from Make Believe Studios is a faithful model of the channel strip from the Criteria Studio C Custom MCI console.
Featuring a mic/line section, a dynamics section, an EQ section, and a main fader, as well as an accurate model of the stereo bus output of the console, the aesthetic is almost as interesting as the sound. A simple design with limited components, it utilizes the inherent characteristics of the hardware to achieve equalization. The dynamics section of the original console was a suppressor, meant to be used with analog tape. The original mid-band of the EQ section was limited to boost only, and the filter section only supported low or high cut; now these limitations have been removed by translating the classic equipment into VST form.
