Hoya B-62CIRPL-W overview

  • 1Description

Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun. Filter factor is between 2.3 and 2.8 (approx. +1.3 stops).

This unique filter is the result of a collaboration between Hoya and respected wildlife photographer, B. Moose Peterson. It combines the advantages of a polarizer with the warming effect of an 81A filter.

Circular polarizers are specifically designed for use with auto-focus SLR cameras (They will also work on manual systems without problems).

Hoya B-62CIRPL-W reviews

62mm (Moose) Warm Circular Polarizer Glass Filter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite filter! I truly love this filter. I recently purchased it for my 20mm Nikkor and 35-70mm Nikkor lens. Talk about warm and pleasing and an excellent color balance. The Hoya Moose filter gives my photographs a much more professional look. With the ability to darken a blue sky, give your pix more contrast and eliminate that muddled hazy look that drive a soul crazy while photographing landscapes with the sky as a back drop. Granted the Hoya Moose is a bit pricey, but well worth the price. I have zero vignetting using this gem on my 20mm lens. Smartly constructed and sturdy as an ox, you will love what this does for you and your photo collection. Don't listen to the critics, just buy it. It is a wonderful addition to anyone's camera bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprised by the terrific results After manually adding an 81A filter to a whole lot of photos taken with a standard circular polarizer one weekend, I read about the Moose and was curious to try it. Finally got around to doing so and just one outing convinced me. To say it was a revelation is an understatement--now I'm planning on getting a 77mm warm circular polarizer for the rest of my lenses. While it's not the answer to everything you face shooting outdoors, it's a wonderful tool to add to the camera bag, especially if you need a polarizer and plan on taking lots of people shots. I have no reservations about this filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dandy Circ Pol. Recently bought a new DSLR, needed a polarizer and found an old friend,Moose's Warm CP. I had one for many years with my 35mm cameras and found it to be ideal for blocking and warming some of our particularly bright sunlight in Arizona. Beautiful results in the desert, and great on the Colorado Plateau are, including northern AZ & southern UT. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice filter This is a very nice filter that will bring improve contrast and bring out certain colors and cut down on haze. Nice for making the water look like glass as it cuts reflection. Just be aware that it will tend to make scenes a bit darker than normal so you'll need to play with shutter speed setting, aperture, ISO etc. and maybe use exposure bracketing to get the best picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Moose I purchased the 62mm (Moose) warm circuar polarizer glass filter by Hoya to use with my 105mm Nikor macro lense since much of my pclose shots are taken in the shade. A warming feel at the start of processing is important to me. I've used a Moose filter on my 77mm telephoto lense (purchased from Peterson himself) over ten years ago. That filter was manufactured by Hoya.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid performance I ordered this polariser on the strength of other reviews and have not been dissapointed. Other polarizers I use DO make the sky that deep blue and I didnt notice that effect so strongly with this one but I love the way this one enriches all the colours in a landscape scene. Its quite versatile. Happy to recommend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Secret Weapon Warming polarizers have been a mainstay in my camera bag for years. I own at least 6 of them in various sizes. Hoya brand is one of my favorites as it always gives predictable results. It's well worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great filter I've used this filter for years. I love the way it works. This one is for my wife. She has had another brand that she is not pleased. She always comments on how much better the Moose filter is when she uses it.
