I do panoramic photography, often shooting from a pole. In the last 6 months I have had 2 cameras slip out of apparently well tightened arca-style clamps and fall. So now I am using this fine little safety cable religiously. I leave one of these cables permanently attached to each of my pano heads. The little extra time it takes to clip the cable to the camera's strap ring is nothing compared to the peace of mind it creates.
The product photo isn't correct. The gauge of the wire is TINY compared to the photo. I am sure you can find a much heavier duty safety cable for about the same price. I elected to not use the ones I bought.
