The Pultec EQM-1A is a 2-band program mastering EQ sporting 12AX7, 12AU7, and 6X4 tubes for the gain stages. Armed with progressive-taper 21-step switches for mastering precision, the EQM-1A enables 20 to 100 Hz shelf boosting or attenuation, 3 to 16 kHz peak boosting, and 5 to 20 kHz shelf attenuation.
Further controls include switches for EQ In and on/off for the entire unit. You can also adjust the Q (bandwidth) between sharp and broad for precise sonic sculpting. The amplifier delivers a flat 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. I/O is via 3-pin XLR. Each EQM-1A is made in the USA.
This allows for precise control for subtle equalization on a mix bus or similar applications. Furthermore, the stepped controls make recall a breeze, and the precise tracking between units is essential for stereo image retention when using a pair on the stereo mix bus.
