Ideal for guitar, vocals, horns, strings, keys, and drums, the Pultec MEQM-5-SS is a 2 RU midrange equalizer sporting a solid-state APO 2520 op-amp for the gain stages. Like other Pultec mastering products, the MEQM-5-SS replaces typical potentiometers with custom-taper 21-step precision rotary switches for enhanced recall and control.
The MEQM-5-SS provides 200 Hz to 1 kHz low-mid peak boosting, 1.5 to 5 kHz high-mid peak boosting, and a 200 Hz to 7 kHz dip attenuation. With the three independent sets of controls, you can simultaneously boost on a peak curve in two ranges while also attenuating the dip for precise sonic sculpting, a quality that has made this EQ design a go to for many engineers. The MEQM-5-SS features manual switches for EQ In and turning the whole unit on or off.
The MEQM-5-SS is the mastering version. Like Pultec's other mastering products, the potentiometers have been replaced with custom taper 21-position precision rotary switches, providing enhanced control and reproducibility of settings.
