Audio enthusiasts in need of an ultraportable audio recorder will be impressed with the teenage engineering TP–7, a digital tape recorder that features a motorized tape reel, a side-mounted rocker, an integrated microphone and speaker, three two-way 3.5mm TRRS jacks that are compatible with external microphones, headsets, or other sources, and a dedicated stereo headphone output.
The motorized tape reel allows for scrubbing, pause, and menu navigation, while the rocker allows you to quickly scrub through your audio. Check out the teenage engineering TX-6, a pint-sized powerhouse that manages to squeeze a ton of features into this CNC-machined aluminum enclosure with custom-made encoders and faders. The device can be used as a multifunctional 32-bit / 48 kHz audio interface with effects including reverb, chorus, delay, freeze, tape, filter, distortion, and more.
The TX-6 features six 3.5mm TRS inputs, a 3.5mm aux output, a 3.5mm cue (headphone) output, and a 1/4" main output with an included 3.5mm adapter. Each channel sports three encoders that are completely customizable. Use them as a 3-band EQ or assign each knob to control whichever settings you prefer. The TX-6 is highly versatile and includes tempo sync, an onboard synthesizer, drum machine, and sequencer. There's an onboard tuner, plus you can connect to both a computer or to your iOS device (MFi compatible). A USB-C cable is included.
