This camera is nicely built and it is small - which is exactly what I was looking for. It fit nicely in a pocket and would not be a drain on me if I had to carry it all day long. I used it on two outings to get used to the controls and just today downloaded the pictures and ... ohhh nooo. It exhibited heavy vignetting on wide shots - right out of the camera. Funny thing was that when the photos were viewed on the camera itself - there was no apparent vignetting at all. When downloaded to my computer was a different story.
See attached photo. Don't judge the quality of the photo - it's a JPG converted from a RAW without any processing. Some photos (because of the content) show the effect being even more pronounced, but I didn't upload them because they are of family members.
I really wanted to like this camera, but the vignetting is a non starter. It would bother me forever. Now I have to start the research for a tiny camera to carry on trips instead of my Sony A7CR.
One bright spot is B&H Customer Service - they accepted the return with no issues at all. It pays to shop with a respected outfit like B&H and I buy all of my cameras through them. I never had to return - I don't like doing that - but they were great to work with.

The camera has great built quality with a sufficient grip. It’s capable of taking detailed shots, with a digital zoom that increases its range. However, looking closely, chromatic aberration is visible and edges are soft. Overall a good compact camera that can take the shot with some acceptable compromises, depending on what you’re doing.
Note: I haven’t tested its low light capabilities

In addition to the points you mentioned, the Panasonic ZS300 Digital Camera (Silver) has a slightly higher resolution LCD screen and better battery life than the discontinued ZS100. It also is equipped with new features such as focus bracketing/stacking capability and Bluetooth connectivity. The only advantages of the ZS100 camera are the wider maximum aperture, as you mentioned, and the fact that it has a viewfinder, which the new ZS300 does not have.
