I am glad to secure one unit from BH once i heard sales starts (which i see currently no stock). After playing with it over the weekend and trying to blend into my video workflow, it has made me questioned my own decision for below reasons.
Let‘s jump in. Tracking function is essentially below the standard and unrealiable. failures to track happen a lot. Can't track my own son playing or my cats.
The zoom functionality is where completely falls apart. The zoom from the 2x to the 3x lens is unsmooth, creating a visual gap that footage becomes unusable without editing. Worse yet, the colore science between the two lenses is mismatched. There is a glaring white balance shift the moment you punch in to 3x. On top of the heavy-handed algorithmic over-sharpening, which leaves visible distortion around the edges of the frame.
New monitor design is nice but is it just a party trick. The moment you detached it, the resolution drop to bottom, hardly functionally in checking any focus or exposure. I will still use phone and app to properly monitor on my own.
Battery life and heating resonally mediocre, the verdict is clear.
It's a overpeiced "toy" and experimental camera. And there are no way you count on it for professionally purpose or content creation.

When using the Insta360 Luna Ultra, the most seamless option would be using the Insta360 wireless mics, (BH # INMPRO2PTRK). However you can use any system with a receiver that goes into a device via USB-C, like the DJI mic system.

Yes, the Insta360 Luna Ultra Standard Combo (Cosmic Black) does have a portrait mode for vertical video. The camera also does take photos with JPEG or RAW support.
