In terms of image quality this lens is at the same level as Nikkor S lenses at f 5.6, 8, and 11. There's a slight loss of IQ quality about 2/3's of the way out from center at f2.8 & 4. I've included a sample pic shot at the following: 7ii 45MP body, hand held, f8, ISO 64, approx. 1/200 exp, infinity focus mark set at the f4 mark (2 stops under f8 setting), slight adjustments to open the shadows and tame the highs. As you can see, fantastic IQ right out to the far corners.
The lens is all metal, slightly heavier than you might think, and handles well on the camera. I enjoy using it. - It has no electric contacts to the body, the f stop ring has no stops but lots of friction, and there's no way to use filters. - Note: The Nikon body will automatically change ISO settings or speed settings but not f-stop settings, you always set the f-stop setting manually while using the lens.
It is a fun addition to my kit.
