Tiffen Dark Contrast Filter (4 x 5.65", Grade 2)

The Tiffen Dark Contrast filter has the ability to lower contrast by selectively targeting highlights and hotspots and toning them down while maintaining shadow details. Unlike other filters which reduce contrast by spreading light from the highlights into the shadow areas, this filter retains shadow details and keeps the blacks truly black without resolution loss or color shift. Depending on the grade strength, this filter desaturates colors and darken highlights for a monochromatic look which can be useful in creating day for night.
