The DVA 500 Series Vacuum Tube Microphone Preamplifier/DI from HAZELRIGG INDUSTRIES is a hybrid microphone preamp based on the construction of the Hazelrigg Industries VLC, as well as D.W. Fearn's VT-2 preamp, utilizing a single 6072a vacuum tube with transformers in both the input and output stages.
Due to the 500 Series module size and power-supply limitations, up to 60 dB of make-up gain is provided by a low-distortion high-output solid-state signal path rather than the vacuum tube circuits. Front-panel features include several control switches including phantom power, polarity reverse, a 20 dB pad, and high-pass filter, with inputs running through a combo ¼" / XLR jack.
