Bambu Lab X2D Overview

With a 10.08 x 10.08 x 10.24" build volume, dual nozzle configuration, enclosed active heating chamber, and included PEI plate, the Bambu Lab X2D 3D Printer makes multi-color, multi-material 3D printing easy. The closed-loop servo motor extruder features a 350°C max nozzle temperature and full filament path AI detection for accurate and issue-free printing of detailed 3D models.

Dual Nozzle System
The X2D hands all the messy support work to a helper nozzle with its own material, with the main nozzle printing the part while the auxiliary nozzle handles the support. Wrap steep overhangs, fabric folds, and internal channels with full support, and then peel it away clean.

Fuse PLA and TPU in a single model. Create bags, grips, and bumpers that come off the bed ready to use. The dual nozzles can swap in a split second, allowing you to enjoy faster color changes, cleaner transitions, and less waste.

Finer. Sharper. True to the Design.
Tap. Switch. Done. Unlike traditional motor-driven systems, the X2D packs a Gear-and-Trigger mechanism into the toolhead. The nozzle-change lever taps the trigger arm, driving an internal gear train to change the nozzle. No extra weight, just a clean swap.

A lighter toolhead means less inertia and vibration. Even at full speed, surfaces stay clean, all the way to the top.

Stay Cool
Two intakes are better than one. Freshly extruded filament is soft, but the X2D instantly flushes the chamber with cool air from dual left and right intakes. This constant air exchange stabilizes each layer for low-temperature filaments like PLA, cooling every line at exactly the right moment. Even tricky angles, such as overhangs and bridges, stay clean.
Heat it Evenly
The X2D pairs a 300°C nozzle with a 65°C actively heated chamber, making it hot enough for filaments such as ABS, ASA, and nylon. However, temperature alone isn't the point. The active chamber distributes heat evenly so that layers bond strongly from edge to edge, and large engineering prints can come out strong and flat.
Calibration Adapts to Wear and Material Changes
Most printers calibrate flow with a single K factor and use it in all scenarios. Bambu Lab doesn't. Flow Dynamics Calibration builds a time-varying, nonlinear model of your entire extrusion system. So whether there's minor residue inside the nozzle, gradual nozzle wear, or slightly damp filament, the system detects, calibrates, and compensates. Smooth surfaces and sharp edges stay consistent with the X2D.
PMSM Servo System
Extruder gears grind into filament as they feed it, causing small pressure fluctuations that show up as tiny lines on the surface. Exclusive to Bambu Lab, the PMSM servo system counters this in real time. With resistance and position sampling at 20 kHz, it adjusts electromagnetic torque on the fly, smoothing out every micro-fluctuation before it reaches the surface.
AI Camera
Before printing, the AI Liveview Camera and Toolhead Camera scan the build plate for foreign objects and verify plate placement. During printing, they watch for spaghetti, nozzle clumping, and purge-chute jams in real time and can pause the job before it wastes hours of time and filament.
Fully-Equipped with Sensors
31 sensors span the entire system, monitoring the feeding path, printing process, thermal environment, and machine safety in real time. Every variable that affects your print is measured, checked, and acted on.
Clean Air
The X2D runs a three-stage filtration system every time it prints. A G3 pre-filter, an H12 HEPA filter, and a coconut-shell activated carbon layer work together to reduce odors and airborne particles. It's the same trusted filtration system used in H Series printers. Quiet. Clean. Ready for everyday spaces.
Safe for Your Living Room
The X2D is UL2904-certified for indoor air quality when printing with Bambu PLA Basic and PETG Basic filaments. Confirmed for low particle and VOC emissions, the X2D allows you to print in your home with ease.
Quiet Enough for Overnight Printing
Active Motor Noise Canceling and a noise-optimized air duct keep the X2D below 50 dB in typical conditions. This is quiet enough for large, overnight printing.
