Made for FL Studio
FLkey 2 61 connects directly to your core FL Studio workflows, from the Channel Rack and Step Sequencer to the Mixer and plug-ins. Play instruments, sequence Patterns, and shape your mix with controls that are automatically mapped, so you can stay focused on creating rather than configuring.
Capture Inspiration Fast
With five octaves of responsive semi-weighted keys, plus pitch and mod wheels, the FLkey 2 61 gives you expressive control right out of the box. Built-in creative tools like Scale mode, Fixed Chord mode, Chord Maps, and a powerful arpeggiator make it easy to develop melodies, chords, and evolving sequences without slowing down your ideas.
Lay Down Beats
Use the 16 RGB pads to trigger samples or sequence Patterns directly in the Channel Rack. Each pad features polyphonic aftertouch, making them ideal for expressive finger drumming with FPC, SliceX, and Fruity Slicer, whether you're programming beats or performing them live.
Fine-Tune Your Mix
Eight endless encoders and nine precision faders provide immediate access to levels, filters, and effects, all automatically mapped to FL Studio. Navigate your project, adjust parameters, and refine your sound with precision, while the crisp OLED display delivers clear, real-time visual feedback.
Go Beyond FL Studio
Expand your setup with a full-size MIDI-out port for connecting external synths and hardware. FLkey 2 61 also supports custom mappings via Novation Components, integrates with NKS-ready software and Native Instruments tools, and offers Mackie HUI compatibility for use with other DAWs.

Novation FLKEY-2-61 Reviews
FLkey 2 61 by Novation shortcomings

This review is necessary to modify my previous 5 Star review that I completed based upon superficial criteria like pretty lights and a proprietary USB driver. More functional qualitative issues have come to the surface. I absolutely do not recommend this product. Purchased 06/25/26.
FLkey2 creates a smart drive in Windows file explorer that crashes in Windows when it shuts down. This can be disabled in the firmware. Also, the value-added PLAY plugin offered is of very poor quality. And key press and release resonate tinny and cheap. **Edit: as more short comings reveal themselves, Velocity curve maxes out at 120 by slamming your finger onto the keybed, unless a 127 all-on setting is chosen (unusable). If you use plugins that adjust timbre for articulation based upon velocity you may need a third-party velocity mapper. I've also discovered that all my Air Music standalone synths produce application errors in Windows when they close only when the Novation keyboard is connected. If I have a different MIDI keyboard attached, no error.
After 6 weeks of very slow to respond support, Novation ends up saying that they are aware of problems but cannot reproduce them. Ineffective support.

Two important features to me, in the order of fun and utility: In standby mode you may ask for Vegas mode where the lights flash and sequence through colors a 'la Vegas Strip. Also, Novation provides a Driver that permits sharing of midi inputs. So, two devices can be used at once.
