The Motown EQs Classic Equalizer Plug-In from Nomad Factory is a bundle of two 7-band passive equalizer plug-ins, which model and recreate the sounds of the Music-Tone Equalizer and Film-Tone Equalizer hardware units used by Motown Records engineers during the 1970s.
Still in use today, these classic pieces of hardware created and polished the sounds of a generation. Users are able to select either Music or Film frequency sets on each of the 7 bands depending on the general vibe that is desired for the project. Upgraded DSP, a resizable user interface, VST3 support, Apple Silicon compatibility, and many other enhancements set it apart from previous versions, which did not feature both EQ settings in one. The proportional Q design, which foregoes adjustable bandwidth, allows smaller boosts or cuts to result in a broad Q, while larger adjustments yield a narrower curve. Adjust the gain of each fixed frequency band (ranging from -8 to +8 dB) to shape your desired sonic characteristics.
