17K Cinema Camera with CFexpress Module
Get started capturing cine-style footage with the URSA Cine 17K 65 Camera Body with CFexpress Module from Blackmagic Design. This kit comprises a 17K cinema camera and a dual-slot CFexpress Media Module for Type B cards. The camera features a large format 65mm RGBW sensor with 17,520 x 8040 resolution, interchangeable lens mounts, built-in OLPF, live streaming, and Gen 5 color science.
New 17K Sensor
The new URSA Cine 17K 65 camera features a new 65mm sensor designed for high-quality images at all resolutions from 4K to a massive 17K. The larger sensor builds on URSA Mini Pro 12K technology with 16 stops of dynamic range. The RGBW architecture provides equal amounts of red, green, and blue pixels to deliver rich colors at all resolutions.

Media Module CF and Storage Options
The URSA Cine 17K records to the included Blackmagic Media Module CF, enabling customers to use their existing stock of CFexpress Type B cards. Use the separately available 8TB Media Module to capture over four hours of Blackmagic RAW in 17K using the full 65mm sensor aperture or up to 20 hours in 4K. Blackmagic Media Dock accelerates post-production workflow by making it faster and simpler to start editing and color correction. You can mount up to three Blackmagic Media Modules for high-speed access to media from multiple URSA Cine cameras, all at the same time.
Lens Options
- The lens mount is user-interchangeable between PL, LPL, EF, and B4 mounts.
- A PL lens mount comes preinstalled on the camera body.
- Each mount has contact pins to read lens metadata for monitoring and post-production.
Blackmagic RAW Capture
Blackmagic RAW is a format designed to capture and preserve the quality of the sensor data from your camera. Blackmagic RAW files store camera metadata, lens data, white balance, digital slate information, and custom LUTs to ensure consistency of image on set and through post-production. URSA Cine records to the included CFexpress Module or an optional Blackmagic Media Module 8TB, which enables you to capture over four hours of Blackmagic RAW in 12K or 20 hours in 4K.
Built-In OLPF
- The camera includes a high-performance, optical low-pass filter that is precisely matched to the sensor.
- The OLPF also incorporates updated IR filtering that improves far red color response, which, when combined with Blackmagic RAW processing for the URSA Cine 17K, preserves color and critical image detail for new levels of image fidelity.
Accessory and Control Ports
The 7-pin LEMO and 3-pin Fischer connectors on the front of the camera provide record start/stop and 24V power and are ideal for onboard accessories such as focus motors.
Monitoring Options
There is a large foldout 5" HDR touchscreen monitor on one side and an external color status LCD on the other. There is also a second 5" HDR touchscreen, allowing the crew to work around the camera without needing external monitors. There's even a dedicated focus puller mode to help customers get perfect focus. The URSA Cine 17K supports the optional Blackmagic URSA Cine EVF to make outdoor and handheld shooting accurate and easy.
Post-Production Workflows
There are three main post-production workflows that the URSA Cine 17K supports:
- You can record to the included CFexpress Module or the optional Blackmagic Media Module.
- If you're offline, you can browse media and manually select which clips you want to upload later.
- Live Sync your DaVinci Resolve project with Blackmagic Cloud. As the camera is recording, the media will continuously upload and sync to all DaVinci users on that project.
Streaming Options
You can live stream directly from the camera using its hardware streaming engine, which supports RTMP and SRT streaming to major platforms or directly to clients. Simply connect to the internet via Ethernet, high-speed Wi-Fi, or even connect to a 4G or 5G connection for mobile data.
Wireless Bluetooth Control
If you're positioning the camera at the end of a jib or gimbal, you can get full control from up to 30' away using Bluetooth. The Blackmagic Camera Control app for iPad or third-party apps such as Bluetooth+ or tRigger can control the camera from your iOS and Android devices. A free developer SDK with sample code is also available from the Blackmagic Design developer website, so you can create your own remote camera control and digital slate solutions.
Ample Power
An 8-pin LEMO connector on the back of the camera is compatible with 24V and 12V power supplies, so you can use new or existing ways to power your camera. A 250W power supply and a B-mount battery plate are available as separate options, so customers can use a wide range of high-voltage batteries from manufacturers such as IDX, Blueshape, Core SWX, BEBOB, and more. There's also an additional 12V 2-pin LEMO output on the rear of the camera to power lower-voltage accessories.
Versatile Body Design
The evenly weighted camera body is built with a robust magnesium alloy chassis and lightweight carbon fiber polycarbonate composite skin to help customers move quickly on set.
Localized in 13 Languages
When setting up your camera, you can choose to work in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean. It's easy to switch to another language, and it will display that language on all on-screen overlays, setup menus, and monitoring information in the selected language.
