Atomos Shinobi GO Reviews

Wouldn’t recommend. Spend the extra money on a ninja or shinobi 2

Had this monitor for 10 months now. The screen started flickering and pixels changing colors. I’ve never dropped it, left it out in the hear/cold, and its on the latest firmware. Just sent it in for repairs under warranty thankfully. Part of me think the screen overheating due to no internal cooling fan. I used a an Atomos Ninja for 2 years and loved it. Left the company I was working for and needed to get my own so opted for this cheaper version. I regret not just spending an extra $100 on the shinobi 2. This monitor has all the bells and whistles I need for filming but the build quality is pretty rough. If you’re using a shotgun mounted to camera and you adjust the monitor, there are audio creaks from the cheap plastic.

Great monitor, great for filmmaking

Great monitor for filmmaking, and I love how bright I can get the monitor and use the LUT feature for nailing my exposure.

I have a GH6 and often shoot 5.8K open gate, will that cause issues with monitoring on this?
Asked by: Noah
If you are recording 5.8K with the GH6, the HDMI output would be downsampled/scaled to 4K so it can be viewed on the Atomos Shinobi GO 5.2" Touchscreen HDR Video/Photo Monitor. Please note the Shinobi Go supports 4k up to 30p.
