A compact, handy tripod with serious build quality
I have been using the Oben MTTAC-13, and I am impressed by how substantial it feels despite its compact size. The build quality is excellent, with a professional feel that gives me confidence when using it with my gear. The aluminum and carbon fiber construction feels solid without making the tripod overly heavy. It does not feel like something I need to baby. It feels built to be used, packed, and carried from shoot to shoot. I also like how flexible it is. It works well on a table or other flat surface, but the adjustable legs make it useful for much more. I can position the camera low for certain shots, extend the legs when I need more height, or bring the legs together and use the tripod as a handheld grip. The ball head moves smoothly and is easy to adjust. I especially appreciate the Arca-type quick release since I already use that mounting system with some of my other equipment. Its compact size is probably what makes it most useful to me. It is small enough to bring along, but it still feels sturdy enough to support a real camera setup. I can also see myself using it to hold a small LED light in places where a larger stand would not fit. I’m very impressed with this Oben MTTAC-13 mini tripod. It is a very well-made compact tripod that gives me plenty of options without taking up much room in my gear bag. It feels professional, works smoothly, and is easy to take almost anywhere.
