The IDP SMART-21S Single-Sided ID Card Printer Kit is a simple, compact solution for businesses and organizations that use ID cards for members, guests, and employees. The SMART-21S utilizes direct dye sublimation to produce sharp images at resolutions of 300, 600, and 1200 dpi. Boosted speeds of up to 720 cards per hour are possible when using monochrome ribbons, while full-color printing can be done at a rate of 156 cards per hour. Design the card on your computer, feed a blank card into the printer, and have a full-color ID card in seconds. The SMART-21S utilizes direct dye sublimation to produce sharp images at resolutions of 300, 600, and 1200 dpi. Boosted speeds of up to 720 cards per hour are possible when using monochrome ribbons, while full-color printing can be done at a rate of 156 cards per hour. The printer accepts standard CR-80 size cards with thickness of 15 or 30 mil. Measuring just 10.2 x 7.0 x 6.6" and weighing 2.7 pounds, the printer connects to a computer via USB for managing jobs.

The EasyLoad kit includes a pre-installed YMCKO ribbon, one cleaning card kit, and a 100-card pack.

Note: this printer's ID card design software is compatible only with Windows operating systems. macOS and other operating systems require third-party software, such as CardPresso, for ID card design.

Can you upload your own design created in another program? If so, what types of files can be loaded - pdf? Jpeg?

You are able to use another software such as CardPresso for ID card designs to create a card and edit on your computer. Otherwise, you will use the included software on your PC with the IDP SMART-21S Single-Sided ID Card Printer Kit.
