The joystick features adjustable flight stick grip resistance, a wide hand rest, and an ergonomic button layout. The joystick and throttle also offer 14 action buttons, one rapid-fire trigger, one multidirectional hat switch, as well as five axes (including the Z-axis) for 16-bit precision.

Depending on your preferences, the T.Flight Hotas 5's rudder function (which lets you rotate the aircraft around its vertical axis) can be used by rotating the flight stick grip (the joystick's Z-axis) for better control, or via the progressive tilting lever for more realism.
