The Garmin inReach Mini 3 Satellite Communicator's global coverage keeps you connected where cellphones can't. With a subscription plan, you'll have peace of mind knowing you can be in touch even when you're far beyond cellular coverage. Communicate by text with folks back home or with other inReach users. In an emergency, send an interactive SOS message to Garmin's 24/7 response center. With TracBack routing, finding your way back is easy if you happen to get lost. Running the Garmin Explore app on your smartphone allows for navigation, waypoints, courses, activities, collections, trip planning, and topographical mapping. The 14 days of battery life in 10-minute tracking mode allow you to stay on adventures longer.
Global Satellite Network
Instead of relying on cellphone coverage, your messages, SOS alerts, and location tracking are transferred via the global Iridium satellite network.
Flexible Satellite Airtime Plans
To access the Iridium network and communicate with your inReach Mini 3, an active satellite subscription is required. You can move between plans as your needs change - or suspend service at no cost when you don't need it.
Two-Way Messaging
Exchange text messages with loved ones back home, post to social media, or communicate inReach-to-inReach in the field.
Interactive SOS Alerts
In case of emergency, trigger an interactive SOS message to Garmin Response, a 24/7 staffed emergency response coordination center.
Location Sharing
Share your location at any time using your LiveTrack page or with your coordinates embedded in your messages.
TracBack Routing
If you get lost, the TracBack routing feature navigates you back to your starting point the same way you came—right on your device.
Check-In Messages
Send simple check-in messages that do not count toward your allotted text messages.
Compact, Rugged Design
Don't let the 3.9 x 2.2" size and 4.3 oz weight fool you. The inReach Mini 2 is tough, durable, impact resistant (MIL-STD-810), and water resistant to IPX7.
Digital Compass & GPS
The built-in antenna automatically acquires satellites to update your latitude and longitude positions. You'll get global satellite reception in wooded, dense, and remote locations. The compass allows you to get accurate heading information—even when you're not moving.
Garmin Weather Forecast Service
Get detailed weather updates on inReach Mini 2 or a paired compatible device. You can even request forecasts for your current location or other waypoints and destinations on your itinerary.
Garmin Explore App
Sync with the Garmin Explore website or mobile app on your compatible smartphone for navigation, waypoints, courses, activities, and collections. Also get access to trip planning and topographical mapping. You can easily find your contacts with the Garmin Messenger app and your compatible smartphone.
Seamless Connection
Use the Garmin Messenger app with Wi-Fi wireless technology or the cellular connection of your smartphone to send messages. Once you're beyond cell service or Wi-Fi connection, the device seamlessly switches to the satellite network.
