Ideal as a starting point for building your custom pro audio interface build, this B&H Kit combines an Apogee Electronics Symphony Mk II Chassis with Thunderbolt 3 Interface (no I/O modules) with a pair of high-quality closed-back planar headphones. This gets you started while leaving room to select the I/O modules that best fit your needs.
The Symphony I/O Mk II Chassis with Thunderbolt 3 from Apogee Electronics is an advanced, flexible multichannel audio interface featuring the newest flagship AD/DA conversion, modular I/O (up to 32 inputs and outputs), and an intuitive touchscreen display. The chassis provides two I/O Module slots for a variety of digital audio conversion options that form the interface side of the Symphony I/O Mk II.
The front-panel touchscreen offers convenient access to nearly every setting including sample rate, clock source, headphone and speaker output levels, meters for all I/O and section navigation, as well as input levels, digital I/O, and configuration settings. Note, this purchase includes the Symphony Mk II chassis and Thunderbolt 3 interface card only, it does not include any I/O modules.

Designed for recording and tracking, the Audeze LCD-S20 are a pair of closed-back planar headphones that offer superior sound quality and noise isolation. The LCD-20 features SLAM, a patent-pending technology that ensures an extended, dynamic bass with lifelike punch that stays clean even at high volumes. Acoustically dampened earcups block out external noise and prevent microphone bleed.
The LCD-S20 utilize powerful 90mm neodymium drivers and patented Audeze tech like a Fluxor magnetic array, Fazor phase management, and an Ultra-Thin Uniforce diaphragm. The cloth-covered gel-filled earpads are not only comfortable for long listening sessions, but provide the perfect seal to ensure the optimum bass response. The LCD-S20 include one braided 3.5mm audio cable and one 1/4" to 3.5mm plug adapter.

- SLAM incorporates precisely engineered channels seamlessly integrated into the ring that connects the earpads to the drivers. Each channel’s length, cross-section, and shape are meticulously tuned through advanced simulations, precision measurements, and critical listening to achieve the ideal low-frequency response.
- These acoustic channels relieve pressure buildup and acoustically modulate the low-frequency response, smoothly boosting bass, similar to adding a gentle low-frequency shelf. The result is significant bass enhancement, 6 dB or more extending as deep as 10 Hz.
- A proper seal between earcups and ears inherently creates increased pressure between the ear and diaphragm. Consequently, the diaphragm faces greater resistance when compressing air toward the ear compared to when moving away.
- SLAM resolves this issue by allowing controlled pressure equalization between the diaphragm and ear area, ensuring fully symmetric and uniform forces regardless of diaphragm direction. This linearized force significantly reduces distortion and improves transparency, adding openness and clarity to the soundstage.
