StudioHub+ adopts RJ45 as its lead connector protocol due to its small size, density, and ease of connection and replacement. Almost every piece of StudioHub+ connects via RJ45 with Cat 5 cables, implementing a standard that conforms to common 568B protocol. StudioHub+ utilizes three of the unused Cat 5 pins to add power (+/- 15 volts) so that it can optionally power in-line devices like headphone and MatchJack balancing amplifiers. StudioHub+ doesn't multiplex signals or add points of failure with lots of active devices. It's a versatile wiring system and interface standard for broadcasting, recording studios, and pro-audio applications.
