UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus 4-Bay NAS Enclosure

With the UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus 4-Bay NAS Enclosure, you'll be able to store and share personal and public files, videos, and pictures with friends and family with ease. This NAS enclosure features four drives bays plus the two M.2 slots. The 2.5GbE port and the 10GbE port allow for high-speed file transfers. While the DXP4800 Plus does come with 8GB of DDR5 RAM, it is also expandable. It is also powered by a 12th Gen Intel Pentium Gold 5-Core processor. There is even a HDMI port, which supports 4K, allowing you to turn the DXP4800 Plus into a media server for home entertainment. With other features, like professional data security, smart classification, and access with a single app, the DXP4800 Plus provides ample storage for personal and home use.

Max Storage Capacity
The DXP4800 Plus features four drive bays for 3.5 or 2.5" hard drives. There are also two M.2 slots for additional storage.
Supported RAID Modes
The DXP4800 Plus supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10 modes. If you prefer to use the drives separately, there is also a JBOD option.

The DXP4800 Plus is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Pentium Gold 5-Core processor and 8GB of DDR5 RAM (expandable to 16GB). The 12th Gen Intel processor delivers both performance and power efficiency.

The 8TB Red Plus 5640 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal NAS HDD from WD is built to handle the workloads of RAID-optimized NAS systems with up to 8 drive bays, including home offices and power users, small to medium businesses, and consumer and commercial NAS systems. This 8TB drive operates using a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface, a 256MB cache, and a rotational speed of 5640 rpm, which all help to ensure uninterrupted data transfers with a rate of up to 215 MB/s. This drive also features high levels of reliability, with 600,000 load/unload cycles, < 1 in 1014 non-recoverable read errors per bits read, a workload rate of 180TB per year, dual-plane balance control technology, and a 1 million hours MTBF. WD's NASware helps increase system compatibility, allowing Red Pro drives to be more easily integrated with your existing network infrastructure, while noise and vibration protection is provided by Rotation Vibration (RV) sensors.

This NAS was very easy to set up. There’s a lot of online help. It worked flawlessly and I was able to add remote VPN. I highly recommend this brand.

The product seems thus far to be working well. However, getting it set up was not easy. There are many. levels with a NAS drive, each of which needs a separate set of login credentials . The tech support was useless. Create a ticket. Wait. Then they send an email answer which has nothing to do with the question. So, start over. Write. Wait. Receive another nonsense answer.

Yes, the UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus 4-Bay NAS Enclosure, BH #UG35260, can be used with just 2 3.5" hard drives and no SSD drives. You do not have to use it with all the bays in use.

Can the device operate with different sized hard drives or do they all have to be equal in size?

The UGREEN NASync DXP4800 Plus 4-Bay NAS Enclosure can operate with different-sized hard drives; however, if you intend to use them in a RAID configuration, it would be best for all drives to have the same capacity, or otherwise you will lose some capacity. When using drives of different capacities, it will work best in JBOD mode.
