The Pyra-Sum Multi-Bus Analog Summing Mixer from Undertone Audio is a passive summing mixer with multiple cascading busses. This architecture affords you the sound and workflow of a large format console, with more sonic flexibility in a compact form factor.
Active circuitry was left by the wayside, allowing you total control of any coloration added in the makeup gain stages—which means you'll need to use eight of your own preamps. The ability to use multiple preamps cooperatively ensures an almost endless array of possible sound profiles. Each channel has a dedicated in/out and mono/stereo toggle switch. I/O is handled via six DB25 connectors on the rear panel, with a main stereo mix XLR output section. With the addition of outboard gear, the inclusion of a patch bay is very helpful, if not essential to fully taking advantage of the Pyra-Sum.
