The AP-614 Lens Foot for Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5 GM OSS Lens from Wimberley functions as an Arca-type compatible quick release plate for the lens. This accessory adds stiffness over the factory tripod mounting foot when connected to a lens plate to reduce flex and vibration. The AP-614 provides a QD socket for sling mounting and has two tapped holes for optimized compatibility. One is 1/4"-20 and the other is 3/8"-16. It's constructed with anodized aluminum and stainless steel to securely hold the lens.

Wimberley AP-614 Reviews
Perfect!
This foot is perfect! The last couple of lenses, I added a pricier brand and was extremely disappointed. This foot is simple, but has all of the extra features you will actually use. I also appreciate the low profile. It still makes for a perfect fit in my camera sleeve. The pricier brand makes them too high and the "extra features" are worthless and they don't have a spot for security screws. I highly recommend this foot. It has been perfect for me!
Greatly improves the lens!
I have been looking at options for replacing the foot for the new Sony 100-400 4.5. The only thing I did not like about that lens was the original foot: it is quite short but sticks out a lot making it difficult to get the lens into a relatively slim bag (and even worse if you add an Arca plate!). This foot has the lowest profile of all the ones I looked at. It saves a lot of space in the bag! It is long enough to balance well on a gimbal and the very smooth finish makes it very comfortable to hold the lens from the foot. For me, the space between the foot and the lens is perfect to carry the gear comfortably. If you have really big hands or need to wear very thick gloves it may be a little tight. A great improvement to the useability of the lens! (Photo 2 shows the lens with the Wimberley foot inside the small Gura Gear 16l Kiboko bag)
