Geoshred Studio Guitar Modeler Software Instrument from ILIO is an expressive performance platform that runs as a VST3, AU, or AU3 plug-in or as a standalone instrument. When used with the GeoShred Control isomorphic surface, it allows physical multitouch expressive performance over USB while being a powerful creative tool in standalone software form.
The physical modeled guitar engine contains over 70 adjustable parameters, a 22-unit inline FX rack of stompboxes, amp simulations, reverbs, delays, and arpeggiators, and more than 200 scales, Indian ragas, and microtonal temperaments. Separately available GeoSWAM and Naada instruments expand the platform into orchestral strings, brass, woodwinds, and global traditions. The Guitar Inspector lets you control countless aspects of your sound, such as string material and stiffness, pick angle and position, bridge coupling, body resonance characteristics, and individual hexaphonic string tuning. Small changes in these parameters shift the instrument's identity from nylon classical character, to steel-string acoustic, to electric with single-coil brightness, all computed continuously rather than crossfading between static recordings. The 22-unit FX rack allows you to drag effects to the order you like and processes the output through a signal chain. Circuit-modeled stompboxes include Tube Screamer overdrive, MXR-style distortion, and a Moog VCF filter. Spatial effects cover reverb, multitap echo with looper capability, and a sympathetic resonator, adding interesting harmonic layers. An arpeggiator and envelope follower provide rhythmic and dynamic automation directly within the performance chain. The Amp/Cabinet simulation can be bypassed, turning the GeoShred Studio into a dedicated MPE controller for external instruments.
