The Original Sound Techniques A-Range Circuit
Jude is built using the exact preamp circuit from the original Sound Techniques A-Range consoles. The complete signal path is faithfully preserved, including the dual-discrete 3035 Class-A amplifier and the proprietary 8-lead impedance-matching circuit. This single-channel version is engineered to deliver the authentic console tone that helped define some of the most influential recordings ever made.
Hand-Wired with Console-Grade Components
Every detail of Jude's construction follows original Sound Techniques specifications. Premium Wima and Nichicon audio-grade capacitors, carbon resistors, and custom CineMag USA transformers are combined in a carefully hand-wired PCB layout designed by Sound Techniques. Each unit is manufactured to the exact standards of the original consoles, preserving their renowned performance, response, and sonic character. Finally, every Jude MP Microphone Preamp is hand-tested and inspected by trained technicians in Austin, Texas before it leaves the factory.
Original Z-Match Impedance Control
The integrated nine-position Z-Match control is derived directly from Geoff Frost's original impedance-matching design. By optimizing the interaction between the microphone and preamp, it allows engineers to fine-tune gain, frequency response, and tonal character across a wide variety of both vintage and modern microphones.
