Ideal for providing flown low-end punch in touring and sound reinforcement duties, the dBTechnologies VIO S218F is an active semi-horn-loaded bass-reflex subwoofer sporting two neodymium 18" woofers with 4" voice coils and up to 3200W RMS output power via a Digipro G4 Class-D amp. With RDNet-compatible RJ45 I/O and Aurora Net support, this sub offers sophisticated control and monitoring.
The VIO S218F provides a max SPL of 143 dB, 32-bit DSP, and 24-bit / 96 kHz AD/DA conversion. Onboard controls include selectable crossover frequency and output mode, delay alignment, and polarity. Crucially, you can also switch on cardioid mode to maximize cancellation of the rear. The unit features RMS, peak, and thermal signal protections, and a special opt-isolated floating preamp circuit. With optional accessories, the VIO S218F can be flown in a stack of up to 14 cabinets via the separately sold DRK-218F fly bar. The VIO S218F includes one PowerCON TRUE1 power cable.
This technology, together with a high-brightness LED bulb on the front of the enclosure, contributes to helping the user recognize, identify, and match each box's physical position on the remote control software, Aurora Net. The amp also allows you to auto-test electronics and transducers before and after use with a real-time impedance control. This unique system ensure tour-grade reliability and remote control over your entire PA’s health.
