While the manufacturer has not stated those sizes or configurations as of yet, it is true that the sensor of the Sony FX5 Cinema Camera (B&H# SOFX5) has half of the stated pixels in each its length and width relative to that of the Sony a7R VI Mirrorless Camera (B&H# SOA7R6), a fact that has led to the assumption by many that it is using four photosites for each pixel of resolution. That configuration would be similar to the operational structure of many modern Sony sensors including that of the Sony FX3 Full-Frame Cinema Camera (B&H# SOFX3) and even some flagship smartphones. However, it should be noted that the readout speed of the sensor of the Sony FX5 Cinema Camera (B&H# SOFX5) is slightly faster than that of the Sony a7R VI Mirrorless Camera (B&H# SOA7R6).
