The RackStation RS826RP+ 4-Bay NAS Enclosure from Synology is a 4-bay rackmount system enclosed in a compact 1 RU chassis that is ideal for data backup, sharing, and synchronization. Its small size, stable performance, and storage scalability make it suitable for branch offices and small- and medium-sized businesses with growing data management needs, with sequential read speeds of 2000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of 1300 MB/s. This enclosure's four drive bays natively support 3.5" SATA hard drives, as well as 2.5" SATA hard drives and SSDs. Should users need to expand the overall capacity of their RS826RP+, the optional RX426 expansion unit offers an additional four drive bays. This model is powered using dual redundant 150W power supplies.
The RackStation RS826RP+ is powered by a 2.2 GHz AMD Ryzen V1500B 4-Core processor and 4GB of DDR4 ECC RAM. Also featured are two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and one USB-C expansion port. Network connectivity is achieved via the four Gigabit Ethernet ports, and if you're looking to expand this NAS, there is one PCIe 3.0 x8/x4 slot that can be used for 10/25GbE NICs, SSD cache volumes, and more.
The RackStation RS1226+ runs on the DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system and supports a variety of RAID modes, which help provide users with data redundancy, speed, or a combination of both. Supported RAID modes include RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, Basic, and Synology Hybrid RAID. For those who do not require a RAID, JBOD is also available, allowing each drive bay to be individually utilized.
Synology has engineered the RackStation RS826RP+ to be energy efficient. Not only does it offer two 40 x 40mm fans to help keep the system running cool, but the server also supports numerous scheduled power on/off cycles and hard-drive hibernation to further minimize power consumption and operational expenses. It operates using 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz and includes two AC power cords, 20 screws for 3.5" drives, 20 screws for 2.5" drives, eight rackmount kit screws, two rackmount kits, and two drive tray keys. Protection is provided by a limited 3-year hardware warranty.
Sequential read speeds of up to 2000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 1300 MB/s, four Gigabit Ethernet ports, and up to eight drive bays after adding in the optional expansion unit.
