Delivering both speed and capacity, the Lockerstor 8 Gen3 8-Bay NAS Enclosure from Asustor offers users the capabilities to take on almost any project. In addition to featuring eight 2.5/3.5" SATA drive bays, this high-performance network storage enclosure has four M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 4.0 SSD slots that may be configured for cache or storage. You can also mix and match M.2 configurations and set up RAID modes depending on your needs. The dual 10Gb Ethernet ports support SMB multichannel technology, which allows you to combine their throughput to reach read speeds of up to 2005 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1090 MB/s, when configured in RAID 5.
Powered by a 2.3 GHz AMD Ryzen V3C14 Quad-Core processor with 16GB of 4800 MHz DDR5 ECC memory, the Lockerstor 68 Gen3 also features a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot for a 10Gb Ethernet card for even greater performance. The two memory slots support up to 64GB total. Other features include two 40 Gb/s USB4 ports and three 10 Gb/s USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 slots.

USB4 is More Than Just Storage
The Lockerstor Gen3 is equipped with two high-speed USB4 ports, offering fast speeds of up to 40 Gb/s. The USB4 ports are compatible with Thunderbolt 3 ad 4 devices, allowing you to transfer, store, archive, and back up faster than ever. When connecting two ASUSTOR NAS units using the USB4 ports, fast data transfers, synchronizations, and backups can be achieved without using the network ports. Paired with features like DataSync Center and SMB Backup, this can help significantly reduce back up time.
The Lockerstor Gen3 and Flashstor Gen2 series are based on AMD's current USB4 driver. AMD USB4 at the moment only supports external storage devices and direct connection between another Lockerstor Gen3 or Flashstor Gen2 series NAS.

Snapshot Center
Snapshot Center is a new feature for ASUSTOR NAS devices to utilize Btrfs and iSCSI volumes to take snapshots of the information inside a NAS. Snapshot Center supports up to 256 snapshots of a volume and can be done every five minutes, creating a backup that can be restored easily if data is damaged or lost. MyArchive now supports Btrfs and snapshots. Btrfs for MyArchive supports snapshots and version history to help protect against accidental deletions or modifications.
DataSync Center
DataSync Center combines multiple cloud services into a single app. DataSync Center includes, but is not limited to Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, and Yandex and supports multitasking as well as multiple accounts.
