Nissin introduces the MF18 II Macro Ring Flash for Sony as an upgraded macro ring flash, specifically designed for use with Sony cameras. The MF18 II version brings a new magnetic mount for use with a separately available cross polarization filter that improves your macro photography by providing an anti-glare effect. Just as the previous version, this flash has a Fine Macro mode that provides highly precise light control from 1/128 to 1/1204 in 1/6 EV steps for great accuracy. The MF18 II is also high-speed sync (HSS) capable to 1/8000 second when shooting in TTL or Manual mode (1/1 to 1/64). HSS gives you the freedom to shoot with larger apertures when a shallow depth of field is desired, even when shooting in bright sunlight. When used in Manual mode, the flash can be adjusted in 1/3 EV steps from full power down to 1/64th power. It has a proprietary semi-circular discharge tube and enables powerful glare suppression. Thanks to its design, the MF18 II can be used on a wide range of lenses. It includes a set of 49, 55, 62, 67, 72, and 77mm adapter rings.

Nissin MF18 II Overview
Brand Compatibility & Benefits
The MF18 II is specifically designed for use with Sony ADI / P-TTL. With a guide number of 52.5' at ISO 100, 5600K color temperature, 1/8000 second high-speed sync (HSS) capability when shooting in TTL or Manual mode, the MF18 II is the answer for high-quality macro photography. Additionally, the flash's Fine Macro mode provides highly precise light control from 1/128 to 1/1024 in 1/6 EV steps to achieve the greatest accuracy, while variable power in Manual mode is from 1/1 to 1/64 in 1/3 EV steps. Another benefit is a color LCD display featuring an easily navigable menu that automatically rotates depending on the camera's orientation. Furthermore, four LED modeling lamps work in conjunction with the power ratio control feature to help you focus on difficult subjects in low-light conditions. Finally, the flash is powered by four separately available AA batteries, but also connects to the optional Nissin PS8 external power pack for rapid recycle times or high-volume shooting.
For Multiple Scenarios
The MF18 II is the ideal macro flash for intraoral dental photography. Unlike LED ring lights, the MF18 II delivers the flash power required to use f/16-f/32 apertures for maximum depth-of-field when shooting close-up with 100mm+ long macro lenses. In addition to precision control and balanced light, the M18 II's consistent 5600K color makes it a great choice for dentists, medical professionals, engineers, forensic photographers, and commercial product photographers. Not only that, the M18 II is suited for photographers capturing close-up macro images of flowers, insects, and small collectibles. A magnetic mount allows attachment of the separately available MF PL cross polarizing filter. The filter eliminates glare and blown highlights for better texture and details.
