Designed for I/O-intensive and latency-sensitive tasks, the FlashStation FS6420 24-Bay NAS Enclosure from Synology delivers comprehensive availability safeguards, making it ideal for applications requiring critical uptime. Powered by Synology DSM, the FS6420 provides reliable, easy-to-setup backup, file sharing, synchronization, and virtualization solutions. This all-flash server has a 2 RU form factor and can be installed into racks using a separately sold Synology RKS-02 Rail Kit. It provides more than 257,000 4K random write IOPS and is equipped with twenty-four 2.5" drive bays that support SATA SSDs. Using its twenty-four drive bays, this NAS will allow you to store and share a large number of files, including videos, music, photos, and documents with up to 15,360 user accounts.
The FlashStation FS6400 runs on Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM) OS, which is a browser-based operating system which helps to simplify managing your Synology NAS. Its 2.4 GHz MD EPYC 7303 16-Core CPU has a burst frequency of up to 3.4 GHz, and its 64GB of DDR4 ECC Registered RAM, which can be upgraded to 1TB, allows frequently used files and applications to be quickly accessed.
Also featured are two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, which allow it to be connected to compatible devices, plus two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, which allow it to be equipped with 10/25GbE NICs and Fibre Channel adapters. Network connectivity is achieved via the two 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports, both of which support Link Aggregation and Failover.
For those who require RAID support, the FS6400 supports RAID F1, which is designed to work specifically with SSDs. RAID F1 unevenly distributes the overall workload between the drives, thus helping to enhance the storage pool and keep your data safe. Also supported are RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10, each of which provides speed, data redundancy, or a combination of both. For those who do not require a RAID, JBOD is available. Operations are kept cool using four 80mm fans.
The Synology FlashStation FS6420 24-Bay NAS Enclosure operates using dual redundant 550W power supplies that run at 100-240 VAC at 50/60 Hz. Included are 2 x C13 to C14 power cords, 104 x screws for 2.5" drives, 2 x push mount cable ties, and a front cover. Protection is provided by a limited 5-year warranty.
