Designed for the Aksen 17.5mm and 45mm Ultra Macro lenses, this Laowa Tripod Collar from Venus Optics secures the lens to the tripod and improves your setup's balance by centering it on the lens. Additionally, this allows the lens to rotate between horizontal and vertical orientations without removing the camera from the tripod. Two 15mm rods are included for additional support when rigging larger camera setups.

Venus Optics VETRINGAKSEN Reviews
Almost a Must

The size, weight and magnification of the Laowa Aksen lenses almost make this accessory a must. Even at its lowest magnification, hand holding would be challenging. Considering the size and weight of the lenses, mounting the camera to a tripod without support for the lens, would put a lot of stress on the camera’s lens mount. The Loawa Tripod Collar is a bit pricey, but it’s very beefy, easy to open and close, fits snugly, and is generally well made. The two 12mm rod attachment points are probably of more interest to those doing video with the cine versions of the lenses, but I may experiment with using them to mount lighting sources for still photography.
