how do I mount a photo strobe on it? Specifically the ALIEN B800 OR B1600
Unfortunately, this stand uses a bolt which normally connects to a yoke mounted light. A stand which can be used with an Alien Bees monolight is the Impact Folding Wheeled Base Stand (Black/Chrome-plated, 8.5'), B&H # IMLSPSFB8. Please see the image below for reference.

What's the footprint diameter of the Altman Wheeled Light Stand?
According to Altman, the length of the leg sections are 14.5 inches from the center of the stand. As the base is triangular in shape, not circular, I would say it takes up an area of approximately 25 x 25 .
