Inspired by the DALI KORE technology, SONIK bass and midrange drivers feature Clarity Cone paper and wood fiber cones with lightweight rigidity and superior resonance control. SMC (Soft Magnetic Composite) is a coated, magnetic, granular material that offers a highly unusual combination of very high magnetic permeability and very low electrical conductivity. The SONIK series uses DALI's patented SMC magnet material to reduce distortion and improve linearity. A ferrite ring surrounds a hybrid iron-SMC pole piece, placing SMC directly in the voice coil's working zone. This minimizes hysteresis and eddy currents, delivering cleaner, more detailed, and relaxed midrange performance. The ultimate goal of SMC technology is to reproduce sound so free of distortion that you can't tell the difference between a live and recorded performance.
