Univer al Audio Volt 1 G2 Overview

Give your content and music the sound of a professional studio with the Universal Audio Volt 1 Gen 2, a 2x2 USB-C audio interface offering the Tone Shaping Preamp, for 60 dB of clean gain and three preamp character types. Combined with robust 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion, this interface provides users with crisp, pro-quality audio and intuitive operation.

Unlike the previous generation, the Volt 1 Gen 2 now sports separate inputs for mic/line signals and instrument signals via a 1/4" front-panel Hi-Z jack and a rear-panel XLR-1/4" combo jack. The interface also features a headphone output and two monitor outputs. The Volt 1 Gen 2 is mobile ready, with full support for USB bus power and iOS. The Volt 1 now features loopback functionality, making it easy to bring in an external guest during podcasts and streaming. The interface features easy level adjustment, manually selected 48V phantom power for mics, and zero-latency direct monitoring. This interface is built for hassle-free UAD Console and LUNA DAW compatibility and includes a bundle of plug-ins and software for immediate audio production right out of the box.

Studio Sound at the Push of a Button
Home recordings and phone demos can sound thin and lifeless. Volt gives your recordings incredible tone right from the start. With three mic preamp modes—Warmth, Focus, and Shine—you can quickly add tube, solid state, and British Class-A tone to everything you record.
Hear Every Detail with Best-in-Class 32-Bit Converters
When you capture that perfect take, Volt's 32-bit / 192 kHz converters preserve every detail exactly they happen. And with loud, clear speaker and headphone outputs, you'll get perfect monitoring levels, from your first take to your final mix.
Record Your Voice and Instrument Like a Pro
Volt 1 gives you studio-grade mic/line and Hi-Z instrument inputs, letting you record your vocals and instruments at the same time. Its clean 48V phantom-powered mic input lets you connect your favorite studio condenser mic for high-quality recording.
Turn Anywhere into a Studio
Volt 1 is bus powered. That means you don't need a power outlet or external power supply to make music. You don't need a studio space either; just plug Volt into your computer, tablet, or phone, pull up a session, and get to work.
Start Making Music in Minutes
When you're inspired, every second counts. Thankfully, Volt is ready, willing, and USB class-compliant on Mac, Windows, iPad, and iPhone. No downloads or drivers. Works with any DAW; so you can be up and recording in minutes.
Shape Your Songs with UAD Plug-Ins and LUNA
Every Volt includes over 15 UAD plug-ins and instruments, the same software used to create and mix countless hit records for decades. Plus you get LUNA, UA's award-winning DAW with authentic big studio sound and smart tools designed to make recording easy.
Ideal for Podcasts and Livestreams
Volt Gen 2's Loopback feature allows you to blend live sources with computer audio. So you can mix podcasts and livestreams in real time. Or just level up your video calls—the same way pro broadcasters work, built into every Volt.
