Audient HORIZON8P Overview

Console-Grade Tracking Connectivity
The Audient Horizon 8P is a 24-in / 32-out Thunderbolt 3 macOS audio interface designed for producers and studios capturing live performances. Its eight Audient console preamps are based on David Dearden’s circuit design from the ASP8024-HE console and provides 75 dB of gain, Smartgain, and digital recall. AURA Control lets you vary each preamp’s impedance in hardware, providing high, mid, and low voicings for working with ribbon, dynamic, and condenser microphones. The unit is housed in a rugged 1 RU all-metal chassis.
32-Bit Conversion and Ultralow Latency
The Horizon 8P delivers 32-bit / 192 kHz conversion with a 133 dB dynamic range and selectable +18 dBu and +24 dBu reference levels. Its Thunderbolt 3 architecture provides 0.99 ms round-trip latency at 192 kHz with a 64-sample buffer, allowing you to track through native plug-ins without any perceptible monitoring lag.
Flexible Recording and Monitoring
Mic/line inputs are accessed via XLR/TRS combo connectors. Eight line inputs and outputs over DB25 accommodate outboard equipment and hybrid mixing setups, while two front-panel JFET instrument inputs are available on channels 1 and 2. Dual speaker outputs support A/B monitoring, and two headphone outputs accommodate separate listeners. Hardware monitor controls include mono, polarity, dim, talkback, and reference-level functions. Horizon Control software supplies a virtual patch bay, custom monitoring, onboard comfort reverb, and four cue mixes.
Digital Expansion and Scalable Operation
Dual ADAT I/O provides 16 channels of digital expansion, while BNC wordclock input and output support system synchronization. Up to four Horizon units can be daisy-chained on a single driver, providing additional connectivity as your studio grows.
