Ideal for guitarists, bassists, and keyboardists seeking to expand beyond creative limitations, the BOSS EX-4 Effects Expander is a compact multi-FX pedal sporting 120 high-quality BOSS FX, split across 128 factory and 128 user presets. With the ability to load up to four FX at once, control the signal chain, you can cover many styles and craft custom sounds on the fly.
With Gear Suite, it's incredibly easy to quickly generate sounds, allowing you to call up FX that are ready for playing and save parameter setups for specific types of effects. You can control your effects via either Manual mode for a stompbox-like sound-creation experience, or use Memory mode for a preset-based system. Control is easy and intuitive with a 2.4" color LCD, clickable knobs, and bright, color-coded LEDs that tell you what FX are loaded and what functions the footswitch assignments are. I/O includes stereo/mono 1/4" I/O that supports the four-cable method and doubles as a serial FX loop, a 1/4" TRS input for one external expression pedal or two external footswitches, and 3.5mm TRS MIDI I/O for synchronizing with external clocks. The EX-4 includes an AC power adapter.
