Pairing the latest acoustic technology with traditional Japanese artistry, the Audio-Technica ATH-AWX7000 are over-ear, closed-back audiophile headphones sporting 58mm dynamic drivers that combine Hybrid Matrix Diaphragm tech with precise HXDT driver molding for detailed, wideband sound. The highly stable diaphragm ensures deep, clear bass extension down to 5 Hz.
The ATH-AWX7000 represent the fine art of Japanese craftmanship, featuring a housing fashioned from beautiful Kiso cypress wood (traditionally used in Shinto and Buddhist construction) hand-finished with a traditional Echizen lacquer. The earpads and headband are made from supple deerskin, a traditional material in Japanese ceremonial attire. The lightweight yet durable frame is constructed from magnesium, while machined aluminum sliders are used for precision size adjustment. All trim pieces are finished in the deep-navy hue of kachi-iro, the lucky color of the samurai. All ATH-AWX700 headphones are made in Tokyo, Japan. These headphones include two detachable 8-braid cables with A2DC earcup connectors—one balanced XLR 4-pin male cable and one 1/4" TRS cable—and a compact carrying case.
By combining HMD with the precision molding process of HXDT technology, introduced with Audio-Technica's ATH-ADX7000 open-back headphones, they’ve created an ideally shaped diaphragm that vibrates as a single unit, thus significantly improving transient response and dynamics.
