App-guided with no prior knowledge required, the Atlas Modular Smart Telescope from Vaonis turns automatically to the celestial object you want to see and tracks it while you observe and take photos.
Atlas employs two tubular imaging modules with 80mm lenses to capture light from nebulae, galaxies, planets, and the moon, showing the imagery on up to 10 phones or tablets and processing the pictures for pro-level results. You choose subjects from a map of the sky where you are; Atlas aligns, finds, points, and tracks, just like a big astrophotography rig but without the complex equipment and procedures. Set it down, launch the app, and explore the cosmos.
A Complete Astrophotography Instrument
Atlas is a smart telescope: optics, camera, motorized mount and automatic pointing in a single instrument controlled from your smartphone. The deep-sky image builds in color on your screen, minute after minute, revealing details impossible to see with the naked eye, even through a very large telescope.
High-Resolution Imaging Module
Each 80mm module is a four-lens apochromatic Petzval-style refractor with no mirror that creates images as sharp on the edges as they are in the center. Its back-illuminated Sony IMX585 sensor, built for faint signal, generates 8.3MP images with 2.9µ pixels and mosaics up to 24MP.
Sky Guard Map
The Sky Guard camera films your whole sky, from horizon to horizon, day and night, and shows the stars as the naked eye would. Tap a galaxy, a nebula or the Moon: Atlas points to it, tracks it and builds the image.
Pointing and Tracking
Atlas integrates GoTo technology to automatically point to and track your stellar object, keeping it in the frame while taking the photos that will be stacked into a final image.
Works in Urban Areas
Atlas delivers excellent results even amid the bright lights of big cities: it stacks and processes exposures to bring out galaxies and nebulae where the eye sees only a few stars. For even faster results, slide a light-pollution filter into the filter drawer.
Multi-Night Imaging
A target is resumed automatically from one session to the next: exposures accumulate over several nights into the same image. Just hit Resume and keep collecting.
