With bigger sound than you'd expect from such a compact speaker, the Apple HomePod mini 2 uses computational audio to help create a full and detailed soundscape, delivering 360° of room-filling sound. The Apple-designed full-range driver and force-cancelling passive radiator provide deep bass and crisp highs. Music is paired with Apple's Sound Glow for an ambient light show that pulses in time with the beat. Go bigger with two for stereo sound, an array for multiroom audio, or a set of four with an Apple TV 4K for surround sound. Powerful Siri AI can use natural conversations and requests to control playback, act as a personal assistant, or control smart home devices.
Sound Glow
The top of the HomePod mini 2 can match the mood of soundscapes, pulse with the beat, or display a color scheme that matches your music's album artwork.
iPhone Handoff
While listening to your iPhone, you can walk over to the HomePod mini 2 and hold the iPhone near it, handing off playback to the speaker.
Siri AI Personal Assistant
Using natural conversations and requests, you can take advantage of the updated and more powerful Siri AI for a number of tasks. Using world knowledge and personal context, have Siri answer questions, perform actions, control your music, check your schedule, and interact with your smart home.
Smart Home Hub
Using Siri AI voice control, you can manage any HomeKit, Apple Collection, or Matter-enabled smart home device. HomePod mini 2 can also be used as an intercom with additional speakers and Apple Home devices. For comfort, built-in sensors monitor temperature and humidity in a room, and for safety, the speaker will listen for smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. When the specific sounds of a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm is detected, a critical alert is sent to your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
Keeps Your Data Private
- HomePod mini 2 only listens for "Hey Siri" or "Siri", so you can talk freely in your home without fear of anything being sent outside of the house.
- Siri requests that are recorded after saying the magic words are paired to a random identifier and not your Apple account.
- HomeKit Secure Video support does the processing of security camera video on the device before it's sent to iCloud with end-to-end encryption. Only you and those you share them with can see them.
- Requests to hear messages and notes on your iPhone are done on the device, so nothing is revealed to Apple.
