Ultra telephoto photography is easily achieved with your Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope in conjunction with this T-Mount Adapter from Celestron. You'll need to take precautions to minimize vibrations, such as locking up the mirror if possible as well as using a cable release or remote control to fire the shutter.

First, remove the eyepiece. Next, attach the adapter where the eyepiece would normally be attached to the telescope, and screw in a t-mount adapter to the opposite end of the SLR camera adapter. Now you can attach your camera to the t-mount and you are ready to begin taking pictures.

T-Mount Adapter for Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescopes is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy adapter with a nice matte coating inside I bought this for my 8 Celestron SCT and was very pleased except when the unit first arrived it had a lot of the matte coating overspray on the threads. At first, I could not get the Canon adapter threaded on, but I worked on it very gently with the tip of a knife and got the worst of it removed and then used my fingernail to get the last bits cleared. The camera adapter threaded on fine then. My camera is very heavy with the battery pack and the connection feels very sturdy and secure. Because I was panicked at first when the camera adapter wouldn't thread on and the eclipse was days away, I called B&H and they were kind enough to rush me another one out. It also had overspray, but by that time I had fixed the first one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ... Product works perfectly. I have a Celestron NexStar 8 and I needed to mount my Canon EOS XSI digital SLR at the prime focus. This plus a Canon EOS T-ring does the job to perfection. I compared prices...and merchant reputation online before deciding to purchase at B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good addition Fits like a glove to my older Celestar C8. I really like how it holds my Canon camera very securely. There is no wobble or image shift like with standard eyepiece adapters. I also like how this shortens the length and now my camera can see to the pole. This will allow me to easily polar align (very accurately) using the zoom capabilities of the camera. I haven't had a clear night to try it to see if the vignetting from the narrower eyepiece adapter was reduced/eliminated but the wider FOV should help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turns the Scope into a Super Tele The adapter is very simple and can't do much wrong with it. Easy to attach to the scope (keep in mind that you lose the standard viewing optic) switching things around can be of an issue in dusty or humid conditions Works OK on my Sony A-850. It tends to have some black edges and the T-ring is a disaster and did drop my camera on the lawn. Manual focusing can be of an issue and it works only for static subjets. With the motors it is pretty much impossible to track any moving objects

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product. I bought it for my Nikon D3100 and Celestron NexStar 8i and it works perfectly with the T-Ring I bought. Built quality is good.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Warning!.....thread carefully! I purchased this with the Nikon adapter ring for use with a Celestron 8 SCT. I inspected the threads on the T-adapter before trying to fit it into the adapter ring because I had read somewhere that others had a problem fitting this adapter to the camera ring.. The threads seemed fairly rough and pitted on the leading edge where you would start to thread. I had to clean out the grooves with a knife and stiff brush and had to make maybe a dozen threading attempts before finally getting it on properly. At least I won't have to do this again since the two parts will stay together. Just kind of poor quality control, thus 2 stars. If it had been a part that needed to be separated and screwed back together frequently I would have given one star. Note that the photo of the part on B&H says Taiwan,...the one I received says China. Same part number.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than I expected. I didn't know what to expect when i purchased this adapter. Wanting to take some astro photos through my husbands telescope, though I am very particular with my Canon 50D, i was nervous about any adapter. Once i used it and saw how easy this was to use without any complications with my camera, I would surely recommend this adapter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple adapter. Does the job. I purchased this for a Celestron C8+. It works fine to connect my dSLR (with the addition of a T-Mount Adapter for my Nikon Camera). It is simple to screw-in, it replaces the eyepiece adapter. I can unscrew the eyepiece adapter and screw this in, in the dark, without difficulty.
