Key Features
- For Refractor & Reflector Scopes
- Requires Camera-Specific T-Mount Adapter
Ultratelephoto photography is easily achieved with your telescope by purchasing this Celestron SLR Camera Adapter with Integral 2x Barlow Lens. You'll need to take precautions to minimize vibrations, such as locking up the mirror if possible as well as using a cable release or remote control to fire the shutter. This SLR adapter's got a built-in 2x barlow lens to assure that any telescope can achieve proper focus, but many telescopes will be able to use it with the barlow attachment removed if you prefer. It will depend upon how much in-travel your focuser barrel has at its disposal. It can, of course, also be used on a catadioptric scope which has a 1.25" focuser barrel.

question
Can this be used as as a visual Barlow, that is, to attach an eyepiece instead of a camera?
Yes, it's a two-in one lens. As it appears in the picture, it's a 'visual' Barlow. To attach to a camera (with T-ring adapter), you just unscrew the bottom piece.

question
Is there any adapters that you can conect an eyepiece with your camera
Usually you do not connect your eyepiece to your camera. The eyepiece is removed, and the camera is connected directly to the telescope. There are options like the Celestron Ultima Duo eyepieces that feature the ability to connect a camera to them for lunar and planetary imaging. But generally it would be best to connect your camera directly to your telescope.

question
why will this not work with catadioptric scopes?
It does work with catadioptric scopes and any other scope that takes 1.25 eyepieces. I have a C5 SCT and it works OK with it, though the optical quality of the Barlow is not all that great.
