The Best All Around Stand

I am SO pleased with this stand!! After hunting around for the perfect all in one heavy duty stand I finally landed on this one. Boy am I glad that I did! It seems like Avenger read everyone’s reviews and made changes to their combo stand based on the feedback! The missing baby pin? Now it’s included by in the junior head! The awkward boom handle? Fixed! I am blown away by how ergonomic and well built this piece of metal is! I can’t wait to use this on shoots! If you need an all around beast to hold your heavy lights and equipment I wouldn’t recommend anything else! As my first combo/heavy grip equipment this will last me for years to come!

How high can the boom go? I'm thinking of having the light suspended over a pool table at around 12' to 13' high and about 5' to 6' from the center column of the stand. Will this boom be able to do that? I'll be suspending an Einstein light with a 64" PLM umbrella attached to it.

What’s max height working w/ boom arm? Photo shows just one riser before the boom pivots out. So it’s not 16’ when booming.
Asked by: Douglas
The maximum working height of the stand is 16.4' /196.85 in/ 5 m. When used as a traditional light stand it reaches a maximum height of 500 cm/196.9 in and has a 30 kg/66.1 lbs. capacity. The combination rugged built-in pivot clamp converts this stand easily into a boom. When the combi boom stand is in boom mode the min boom extension is 155 cm/61 in and has a capacity of 30 kg/66.1 lbs. and when extended the max boom extension is 266 cm/105 in and the capacity is 8 kg/17.6 lbs.

question

Can anyone recommend a carrying case for this stand?
Asked by: David
Just got this and it's long enough even if you have the optional wheels on. I love this bag! It's actually a ski bag but you'd never know. Element Equipment Wheeled Padded Ski Bag Ultimate Double - Premium High End Double Roller Travel Bag

question

The maximum extension is 105 (according to a Q&A response)--but don't you have to back it down about 18 to 24 for a counterbalance? I only need to put about 7 or 8 pounds on the end. Can it hold that without a counterbalance at full extension? How much weight can it take at full extension without a counterbalance?
Asked by: Brian
The maximum extension is 105 with the pushed forward completely and the top riser extended on it. You would only need about 18 at the end to clamp on a counterweight, which should be used even if the light being placed on it is only 8 lbs for safety.
