Avenger F809 Reviews

Used as a modular shelving brackets and to hang the lights

I was installing shelves in my photo studio, instead of using regular shelving brackets I mounted these right angle plates to wall in combination with 5/8 receiver wall plates as brackets for the shelves in my photo studio. Since these shelves can be removed with a simple twist of the knobs, I can use the right angle plates on wall to mount another light when needed. Kept that Photo Studio vibe going while being modular in usage.

No more C stands

Perfect for my studio size and needs. It was particularly helpful to me because I am using an Arkay Mono Stand Senior III with my camera and due to the constrains of a wooden frame inside my studio, my C stand was ALWAYS on my way. Not anymore though. I've got an Avenger F808 and a F809 for more flexibility with my Paul C Buff Einstein heads and I could not be happier. I can even use the boom pole that came with my Avenger Turtle Stand for even more possibilities. The F809 is also great to hang the Einstein upside down and get the C stand completely out of my way and out of the studio mono stand's way as well so I can roll it around my subjects when needed. With that sturdy Avenger D600 and the F808, now I can extend my Einstein over a table with white reflective acrylic when I am shooting products (tabletop) without the cumbersomeness of the C stand.Very happy photographer over here. Check my attached photos for your reference :)

The plate is a welded to a steel pin. The load limit will more be a matter of how you mount it and what you mount it too.

Anyone know if there is a version of this with a receiver instead at a 90 degree angle as well? Looking for something with similar load capacity and distance from the base.

I do not believe there is an option for a baby plate that is angled with a 5/8-inch receiver. One options is to use a 5/8 female to 5/8 female adapter like one of these, https://bhpho.to/3vmtsD9 .
