If you're hanging sound foam this is the stuff you want. Don't use spray glue. You'll only regret it.

I had issues getting it out of the tube, almost as if it had started to dry out. Then it barely would stick to the acoustic foam. Again, I think either it had begun to dry out or it's just not a good product.

Hello Wayne, Tubetak does not have a strong odor, but it does smell somewhat minty. Compared to other kinds of adhesive, it is very mild and doesn't smell strongly of solvent. It is, however, still advisable to make sure your work area is well ventilated.

How do you apply it to the foam and how do you know how much to use?

You will need a standard caulking gun. I applied it by making some zigzags on the hard panels I wanted to glue the foam to. Woked out very well, you don't need to put a lot, but think that the foam it absorb some of the adhesive.
