Wimberley P-10 overview

  • 1Description

The Wimberley P10 quick release plate for lenses is made of silky-smooth andonized aluminum, with anti-twist flanges to trace the edges of the lens' tripod collar.  It fits all the Arca-type quick release adapters, which are made by many different companies such as Acratech, Arca-Swiss, Foba, Graf/Studioball, Gitzo, Novoflex, NPC and (of course) Wimberley.

Dual Safety Stops
The safety stops at the front & back of the Wimberley P10 plate prohibit your lens from accidentally slipping out of the quick release adapter(easily removed with supplied hex wrench if desired).
Double-Dovetail Cross-Section
The Wimberley double-dovetail design allows attachment of their Shape Shifter flash bracket system to the upper or lower surface of the P10 plate.
Works with All Common Flash Brackets
Drilled holes accept flash arms from Kirk & Really Right Stuff
Combine with two Module 1 Quick Release Arms(B&H item code "WIM1") for a brilliant support base for using your long lens atop a beanbag

    Wimberley P-10 reviews

P10 Quick Release Plate is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 59.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from FAST EXCHANGE ON YOUR TRIPOD OR MONOPOD The Wimberley P10 Quick Release Plate is a must-have for long lenses (such as the Nikon 70-200mm 2.8) when using a tripod or monopod. I have Wimberely Quick Release Plates mounted on all of my long lenses. They allow me to mount and dismount the camera/lens combination quickly on my tripod and monopod. Of course, you must have a Wimberley clamp or head mounted on your tripod or monopod. The build quality of the plate is excellent and the safety stops are a great idea!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product that I would recommend to others. I recently bought the Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head and several mounting plates to fit my various lens. I had conflicts between my Canon 7D (with battery pack) and the 45 degree joint between the horizontal and vertical beams of the head. I was able to resolve this problem with conversations with Wimberley (and the purchase of two additional plates at a cost of over $100). Regardless it is very well made and has the potential for a lot of use under various conditions. However purchasers should be aware of the total possible cost of the head and all plates that they might require. These same additional plates that I required might also be required with other cameras and lens combinations. Check the total cost of any heads and plates that you are considering before purchasing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ordered the wrong plate just got a canon 500mm lens and wanted to get the right gear to use it - wimberley 2 head. Put it all together and with just one set screw this P10 plate didn't seem strong enough for the lens. ... I need a P-50. I have that one on order now. Will use the P-10 with a smaller lens, so it won't be wasted. wish I had done a little more research before my order.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A quality product The Wimberly P-10 is a precisely machined lens plate with a black anodized finish. Attached to my 300mm f/4, it locks solidly onto my A-S compatible ball head with no movement or vibration. Using the optional set screws makes it easy to decide how to mount the combination on a ball head: by sliding it on from the front or rear, or dropping it into the clamp. Great product-highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have! Does what it's intended to do. You've invested $2k or more in your lens...its a no-brainer to invest $ in a secure footing for your rig atop your tripod setup. I'd say this is just as important as getting a protective filter. Get one at the same time as your next lens. The manufacturer's website has all the correct sizing & application info you'll need.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Quality I use this plate an a Sigma 70-200 2.8 lens and it works great. It stays in place and works on both my Wimberley and Jobu heads.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wimberley equals quality I use Wimberley clamps almost exclusively now. There are no advantages I have seen for the more expensive lens specific plates from others. Each plate fits a wide range of lenses, even many that are not on Wimberley's list. As always fit and finish are perfect.
